Musk's Billion-Dollar Gamble: Secret Meeting with Trump Sparks Speculation

Musk's Billion-Dollar Gamble: Secret Meeting with Trump Sparks Speculation on Massive Financial Backing to Oust Biden from the White House

A story claims that Musk and Trump had a meeting on Sunday in Palm Beach, Florida.
The Tesla founder has contributed to both Democrats and Republicans in the past.
Recently, Musk has taken aim at the administration's 'woke' agenda and Biden's immigration policy.

Following a covert meeting between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, rumours began to circulate that the CEO of Tesla could be providing financial support for the potential Republican presidential candidate.

According to the New York Times, the two met on Sunday in Palm Beach, Florida, along with a few affluent Republican fundraisers.

To strengthen his presidential campaign, Trump and his group are frantically looking for financial support.

At present, Musk stands as the second wealthiest individual globally, with an approximate net worth of $200 billion. The founder of Tesla has turned increasingly political in recent weeks, criticising Democratic Senator Joe Biden's woke policies and the administration's handling of the border crisis in posts on the social networking platform X.

A source said that Trump has informally complimented the tech tycoon to his associates and is hoping to set up a one-on-one meeting shortly.

Funding may be sought by Trump amidst growing financial difficulties resulting from legal issues.

He presently owes more than $454 million for judgements rendered in New York; in one instance, a jury punished him $364 million for civil fraud, while another ordered him to pay damages for defaming his rape accuser, E. Jean Carroll.

It's estimated that he paid almost $50 million in legal bills related to the trials and other charges.

Musk has recently been very critical of the Biden administration, despite the fact that he has not endorsed any candidates.

He redistributed a story from DailyMail.com on Tuesday, which described the admission of  320,000 unscreened immigrants into the US and issued a dire warning: "It is very likely that the foundation is being set for something much worse than 9/11."

According to the NYT, several close to Musk also acknowledged that he thinks Biden should be ousted from office in November.

But there has already been some turbulence in their relationship.

He resigned from two corporate advisory councils in 2017 in response to President Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. Musk responded to Trump's 2022 profanity by saying it was time for the former president to "sail into the sunset."

In contrast to other billionaires, Musk has contributed to both the Republican and Democratic parties in the past, albeit he has not done so extensively.

John Kerry, George W. Bush, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Marco Rubio, and others have all received donations from Musk personally.

Contracts and subsidies from the federal government have helped his enterprises, SpaceX and Tesla.

But it seems like Musk has been leaning more Republican in recent years.

This might be partly because of the Biden administration's 2021 snub, which occurred when they neglected to extend an invitation to Tesla for an electric vehicle summit.

The White House excluded Tesla from the EV meeting and gave the company the cold shoulder, as Musk noted in a December post that came more than two years after the event.

The next year, before the midterm elections, he urged his fans on X, the former Twitter, to cast their ballots for a Republican Congress.

More recently, Musk seems to take offence at comedian Bill Maher for saying that he would almost always vote for Biden over Trump when hosting a podcast.

Musk stated on X that "Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a very real disease."

After Trump's account was suspended on January 6, Musk restored it after purchasing the social media network in 2022.

Musk has frequently attacked left-leaning "woke" measures and echoed conservative sentiments about immigration.

"America's attempt to take over the world will fail," Mr. Musk said on X on Tuesday.

In addition, he asserted—despite the lack of supporting data—that Democrats are "ushering in vast numbers of illegals" to conduct voter fraud.

Musk made indications early in the Republican primary season that he supported Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

With a live broadcast interview with the millionaire, DeSantis launched his campaign, although this did not result in a gift.
